Could Your Gut Health Be Causing Your Depression?

Did you know there is a connection between your gut and your brain?  It’s true.  There is a lot of communication that goes on between the two.  Your brain has 85 billion neurons, and it connects through nerves down to your gut.  Besides nerves, there is also a pipeline of communication between the brain and the gut with hormones, chemicals, and neurotransmitters.  The brain makes hormones and sends chemical signals down to the gut, which also sends chemical signals up to the brain.  In this video, I explain how this process works and the importance of optimizing your gut health so that the feedback going up to the brain is the best it can be.

You might be wondering how the gut-brain connection affects you.  Well, if you are someone who has been diagnosed with depression, it could be that an imbalance within your gut is the root cause of your depression.  Many people struggling with depression have gone from doctor to doctor and have tried different medications but still, feel unwell.  This brain-gut connection could potentially be one facet of treatment that has been overlooked with conventional medicine.  In my functional medicine practice, this is one of the things I look at when working with my patients who have depression.  Through in-depth lab testing and evaluation, I can identify imbalances within the body and put a personalized treatment plan in place to restore a healthy brain-gut connection.

Are you ready to take control of your depression and regain your life? If so, I have designed a program specifically for patients with mood disorders. In my program, we will look for possible root causes of your depression, and a customized plan will be created so that you can optimize your health and in turn overcome your depression.

If you would like to learn more about this program, please schedule a free 15-minute call - https://bit.ly/FFMDiscovery. Let’s discuss your issues, and see if my program is right for you. I would be happy to talk to you about the brain-gut connection and your issues with depression and anxiety.
